Wander towards the Ha’penny Pier and you won’t miss the eye-catching display of poppies that has sprung up by the Navy Yard.

This sea of red adorning the Quay is the handywork of the British legion and Harwich Dock Company to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

The poppies will be on display until Sunday, November 11 to remember those who died during the conflict.
