The Electric Palace is currently closed for major restoration work funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Following the acquisition of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Harwich town’s beloved Electric Palace cinema is undergoing a makeover that is set to see the final stages of its £704,000 restoration take shape. The condition of the building’s ceiling is to be thoroughly checked and stabilised, requiring removal and renovation of the roof. In addition, the auditorium will be redecorated and the stage will be made bigger. Work is expected to take around 6 months – check The Electric Palace website for further information and updates.
